Mr. Cary Dabney, MDiv
Mr. Cary Dabney is the Director of Faith Formation and Evangelization at St. Valentine. Prior to coming to St. Valentine, Cary served as the Director of Faith Formation at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Dorchester, Massachusetts, in the Archdiocese of Boston. While in Boston, he taught students in every level from elementary to high school to college and has experience in teaching RCIA and facilitating youth ministry. At St. Valentine, Cary’s responsibilities include directing Religious Education/CCD classes, Adult Formation activities, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, and facilitating preparation for First Holy Communion and the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Cary is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies. He also received a Masters of Divinity from Harvard University, and a Catechetical Certificate from the Theological Institute for the New Evangelization at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton, Massachusetts. He also serves the Diocese of Pittsburgh as a Master Catechist and is an adjunct faculty member in the Theology Department at Walsh University in Canton, Ohio. He is currently working on his doctorate in systematic theology at Duquesne University. In addition to these duties, Cary serves as a staff writer for the United States Catholic Conference of Bishop's Ad Hoc Committee on Racism.
Cary has been happily married to his wife, April, for nearly 20 years, and they have been blessed with six children and five grandchildren.
Cary is also a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
