The Catholic School is unique because it is a religious community with an academic community. As a school, it is a community of learners and teachers, administrators and parents, staff and resource people.                                    Goal

The faculty, administration and students of St. Valentine School accept the challenge to integrate religious truths with the rest of life through our values-based curriculum and through every interaction with each other.  We believe that persons who live the Gospel value of COMMUNITY have a strong sense of purpose, mission, and a personal conviction based on faith.  We believe that the value of COMMUNITY must be integrated in all three areas of our school life:

Interpersonal- through the lives of our staff, teachers, parents, students as they relate to one another

Organizational- through the policies and procedures that govern the school

Instructional- through the actual classroom instruction in each academic subject area

Therefore we commit to the following plan of action:

1.  During the month of SEPTEMBER, teachers will develop with their students the concept of COMMUNITY so that each child will make a commitment to this value.

2.  The value of COMMUNITY will be expressed in each mass as a petition and by inviting new families as well as established families to join us at mass.
