The St Valentine School PTG is proud to announce that
Tony Ernst is the SVS Student of the Month for January, 2009.
Congratulations to Tony and his family. A $25 Giant Eagle gift
certificate has been presented to the 6th Grade in Geoffrey's name.

Here is an excerpt from Tony's nomination:
Tony
Ernst has risen as a leader among his peers. Tony does things not because they
are popular or will get him compliments—he does them because they are the right
thing to do. On a daily basis you will see Tony rounding up his fellow students
for prayers and then leading them in prayer. You’ll see Tony completing tasks
around the room—such as closing lockers, picking up items that have fallen out
of lockers—even before others notice. He takes his role on Student Council
seriously and carries out his duties with enthusiasm 2nd grade is
given weekly updates on Student Council affairs. Tony always tries to do his
best and he is willing to give his all to each endeavor.
Here are excerpts for some of the other excellent
nominations:
I would like to nominate Gavin for sharing part of his
lunch with a fellow classmate last Friday. My daughter Stephanie bought lunch
last Friday but did not like the Fish sticks. I always pack her some extra food
even when she does buy because she
is a very picky eater and will not eat everything that is offered from the
school lunch. I had cafeteria duty that day so when I went over to tell her that
we had nothing else to give her, she very happily said that Gavin had given her
his pretzels.

Harry always comes to class on time and with a smile on
his face. He works so hard in class and always puts forth a great deal of effort
in class. He is also very kind to the other students in the school He always
offers to go and get the younger students and bring them to class. Harry’s
effort, kindness and enthusiasm for learning makes him a very special student.
Thank you to everyone who participated. Nominations are
accepted up to the last school day of each month. The winner is announced
at the next month's PTG Meeting.
