Along with schools across the nation, St. Valentine School in Bethel Park will celebrate Catholic Schools Week January 25-31, 2004. This year’s celebration of Catholic Schools Week at St. Valentine also marks the celebration of the elementary school’s 50^th anniversary. To begin the week, students, faculty, staff, alumni, parishioners, and friends will gather together for an opening Mass on January 25 at 9:00 AM, followed by an Open House at both the school and preschool. 

Other events planned at St. Valentine include a visit by author Katherine Ayres, a student talent show, a Buddy Day in which students share time with students in other grades, and an assembly. 

The highlight of the week’s activities will be on Friday afternoon, January 30, when students and their families join for a ‘50s Fun Day. The celebration begins with a family style lunch and ends with a celebration of prayer. There will be an anniversary cake to mark the school’s 50 years of Catholic education and an old fashioned ‘50s Sock Hop.
