Ten from St. Valentine School

Bring Home a First from PJAS Competition 

Once again, students from St. Valentine School in Bethel Park have taken the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) competition by storm. Eighteen seventh and eighth grade students participated at the 70^th Annual Regional 7 Meeting held on February 7 at Chartiers Valley High School. Ten received first place awards, seven received second place awards, and one received a third place award. In addition, two students received special recognition for a perfect score. All the first place winners will travel to Penn State University in May for the statewide competition. 

First Place: Andrew Uhlmann, Eddie Bittner, Adam Bittner, Johnny Rodaitis, Johnny Sigg, Alex Polley, Eric Weiss, Kaitlyn Loy, Kelsey Kanspedos, and Ashely Meyers.  

Both Alex Polley and Eric Weiss also received a special award for a perfect score.  

Second Place: Peter Croke, Briana Koenig, Gabriella Paliotta, Maura Westerlund, Amy Banner, Amy Carroll,  and Gabrielle Mingrone.

Third Place: Pasquale Paliotta.

Moderator for the group is Mrs. Mary Steedle, assisted by Mrs. Kathy Polley.
