Saint Valentine School

This year, St. Valentine Preschool and School are set to celebrate Catholic Schools Week, along with Catholic schools nationwide, from Sunday, January 27 to Saturday, February 2.

The celebration begins with students speaking briefly at all Masses on Sunday, January 27. In addition, the parish Children's Choir will sing at the 9:00 A.M. Sunday Mass.

On Monday, January 28, St. Valentine School celebrates Buddy Day. Students will buddy up with students from another grade. The day begins with a Prayer Service conducted by Father Tom Sparacino at 10:00 A.M. Buddies will then work together to create a Valentine for Veterans, Service Personnel, and parish shut-ins; eat lunch; enjoy a board game; and work on a Thank You to parishioners for their support of St. Valentine School. In the evening, the Preschool hosts a gathering of the four-year-old students with a male Very Important Person.

Students in kindergarten through eighth grade will hear a presentation on the military Tuesday, January 29. Classrooms will also compete in a USA Door Decorating Contest. Meanwhile, students in the Preschool will host a Guest Day at 10:00 A.M. and 1:45 P.M.

Preschool students will recite the Pledge of Allegiance and visit students in kindergarten through eighth grade on Wednesday, January 30, a Red, White, and Blue Dress Down Day. The day also includes a Cake Walk raffle, in which students compete to win specially decorated cakes. In the evening, the Preschool hosts a gathering of the four-year-old students with a male Very Important Person.

On Thursday, January 31, St. Valentine School invites the public to Open House sessions beginning at 8:45 A.M. and ending at 10:00 A.M.

Friday, February 1, will include the regular Friday School Mass at 10:00 A.M. and a Talent Show at 12:30 P.M. It will also be a Red, White, and Blue Dress Up Day.

The week concludes with registration for Preschool in Newman House on Saturday, February 2 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
