Two students from St. Valentine School in Bethel Park were selected as winners in the YWCA's 2001 Racial Justice Student Essay Contest, sponsored by the YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh and the YWCA Center for Race Relations. Molly Doherty and Alexis Vaughan will be recognized for their accomplishments at the YWCA's Annual Members Meeting and Racial Justice Awards Banquet on Wednesday, October 17, 2001, at the Pittsburgh Hilton and Towers. In addition, they will be guests at a private reception prior to the dinner, along with other student essay contest winners, members of the 2001 Racial Justice Awards Committee, and past and current Racial Justice Award recipients. Molly is in the seventh grade at St. Valentine and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dohoerty. Alexis is in the sixth grade and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Vaughan.
