I hope God continues to bless each of you throughout the year. We have much to be thankful for as Americans and members of Saint Valentine Parish. As we approach Veteran's Day, November 11, I would like to thank all those at Saint Valentine who have served our country in uniform, including all relatives of SVS parents who served in the Armed Forces. Many thanks to Margaret Myron Sigg, Greg Bohonek, and Joan Greene for spearheading the PTG Family Bingo. Additionally, thanks to all those who assisted in any way to make this event a success. Congratulations to our sister organizations ----- Athletics - for a wonderful basketball clinic and for the reorganization of their equipment. Long Range - for a successful Fall Fantasy. Several of our members were instrumental in making the above events successful and continued to show that "There are no walls here at Saint Valentine." A copy of the approved budget 2000-2001 will be available in the PTG section of the library. A videotape containing information on Pennsylvania's Tuition Assistance Program is available for members' review in the school library. Remember to vote on Election Day. Finally, Happy 225th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps on November 10, 2000. Semper Fi! PTG MEETING The October meeting lasted approximately fifty-five minutes. A quorum, 20 members, was not present at the time voting on issues was the order of business. In fact, at that time we had nineteen members. So you do make a difference by attending our meetings. Please contact me prior to any meeting if you wish to have any new business items placed on the meeting agenda. The next PTG meeting is scheduled for November 9, 2000 at 7:30 P.M. in the Newman House. Babysitting services will be provided. There will be a uniform exchange that evening. CHAIRPERSONS MUST SUBMIT A MONTHLY REPORT, EITHER IN PERSON OR IN WRITING, FOR EACH MONTHLY MEETING. As always, you may discuss any of this with any other PTG officer or me. Thank you. PTG MEMBERSHIP DRIVEThe PTG Membership Drive concluded in September. Grade 5-12 was the only class to reach the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow by achieving 100% participation. They will receive the first place prize of $20.00 and also will be awarded a dress down day! This year 82% of the families in grades K through 8 signed up compared to 76% last year. Parental support of the PTG is critical to its success. It is important to note that unless you are a member of the PTG, you may not vote on any of the items tabled at the PTG meetings. If you did not send in your membership slip and you would still like to join the PTG, please send a note to Dee Dee Dudiak via Brian Dudiak, Room 5-12, with your family's name and the names and grades of your children. Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at the next meeting.Dee Dee St. Valentine PTG Fundraiser REMINDER:Pick-up day is Saturday, November 11, 2000 in Frawley Hall from 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. The first is a musical production titled "Saints" by Tom Franzak that is scheduled for 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, November 9th. This should be a wonderful show for our students and I invite you to join us if you are available. Later in the month, on Wednesday, November 29th, we will have a representative from the Animal Rescue League at St. Val's. This program was previously scheduled for September, but had to be changed. We are planning to collect items for the animal shelter's wish list in exchange for the presentation. The list of needed items will be sent home with the students on the day of the program. Note: Some animals may visit the school for this assembly. If you have children with animal allergies, please make them aware of this and take any necessary precautions.Thank you.
