school detention (see below)
- Principal/Student Conference (see below)
Lunch-Time Detentions: Lunchtime detentions will be
issued for the following reasons: minor infractions of classroom rules
(gum chewing, dress code violations, disruptive behavior, etc.) A written
notice will be sent home indicating the nature of the offense and the
consequence. Students must have a parent signature on the detention notice
and return the notice the following day. In the event that this does not
occur, a telephone call will be made to the parent. Students in Grades 4-8
will be permitted in the cafeteria to pick up their lunch and return to the
designated room to serve their detention. Students in Grades 1-3 will eat
in the cafeteria and spend their playground time in the classroom with the
assigned teacher. After-School Detentions: After-school
detentions will be issued for major infractions of rules (fighting, disrespect
of those in authority, etc.) Infractions that require an after-school
detention will also include a conference with the child and a telephone call
home. The principal will supervise after-school detentions. Parent
Conferences: When a parent conference is required, a course of
action to correct the behavior of the student will be developed. This may
include ESAP Team referral. ____________
