Saint Valentine PreschoolMeet the Teacher
I received my B.S. in Education from California University of PA, with my area of specialization being Early Childhood Education. I have also received my advanced certification in the Diocese of Pittsburgh to teach Religion in a Catholic Preschool. I have been teaching Preschool and/or Kindergarten-age children for the past 26 years, 22 of which have been in a Catholic school. This is currently my 17th school year here at St. Val's. Starting out as a single classroom in 1989, St. Valentine Preschool has developed over the past 17 years to include 5 activity areas and a fenced-in outdoor play yard. As the director of the preschool, I provide opportunities for the students to engage in activities in conjunction with St. Valentine School students from K-8, which include the use of the school library, computer lab, gym and various classrooms. I also look for opportunities in our surrounding community to provide the students with a hands-on learning experience.
