St.
Valentine Church
Catholic Men’s Fellowship
As
iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another.
(Proverbs 27:17)
The Catholic Men’s Fellowship (CMF) of St.
Valentine Church offers Catholic Christian men the
opportunity to share their faith and love for
Christ through prayer and fellowship. We gather
in Christ’s presence to share our experience,
strength and hope, and prayerfully support one
another in an atmosphere of trust and
confidentiality.
St. Valentine’s CMF is associated with the
National Fellowship of Catholic Men (NFCM) and the
Catholic Men’s Fellowship of Pittsburgh.
Essentially, we are a group of Catholic fathers,
husbands, and single men who get together to
discuss aspects of our faith in God, and discuss
how to apply our faith in today’s world. We meet
every Tuesday, immediately after the 6:30 p.m.
evening mass in the Newman House.
Our ambition is to keep the meetings in a
small-group format. We are currently using a book
entitled “Discipleship for Catholic Men” as
a discussion guideline. Each week the lesson
gives us selected scripture readings, related
catechism sections and a reading that portrays a
real world situation that a man may experience in
life. We are then posed with questions that
promote discussion in the group. We are also using
audio and video materials to promote discussion
and learning.
Your experience in CMF uses the study of both the
Bible and the Catholic Catechism to provide you a
good vehicle to bring the love of Christ into
central focus in your life. As our group evolves,
we will consider other avenues to share our faith
through fellowship, which could be anything from
song and prayer, to even enjoying other types of
gatherings (Steelers on the big screen?).
We welcome you to come and see if CMF may be what
you have been looking for. Please feel free to
join us at one of our weekly meetings or to just
find out more, please call Stan Solak (724)
514-7342 or Thom Mills (412) 979-6140.
